Setting up AVG with Optuma
This article will take you through the process of setting up AVG to allow Optuma full access to the internet. This should prevent any problems downloading End of Day data, or installing updates to the software. ## Process
Open your version of AVG Anti-virus Software.
Select the Overview button from the left-hand side of the window.
You will be presented with a range of different options. Select Resident Shield.
After you have selected Resident Shield, the component page will appear. Select Manage Exceptions.
From here you can specify a file path or file that you wish to be excluded from the AVG anti-virus scans.
Select Add Path. You will then need to navigate to the various Optuma folders on your computer and add them as exceptions from the scans.
These are the Optuma folders that you will need to add as exceptions:
Note: If you are an existing client and have used Market Analyst, you will use the ProgramData\Market Analyst file below. If you are a new client and haven’t used Market Analyst, then you will use the ProgramData\Optuma file below.
Note: The first program files listed are for the 32-bit version of Optuma, the second files listed are for the 64-bit version of Optuma.
C:\Program Files\Market Analyst 8\
C:\Users\[Account Name]\AppData\Local\Market Analyst 8\
C:\Users\[Account Name]\AppData\Local\Optuma\Documents\Market Analyst 8\Documents\Optuma
Note: If you specified a different file location other than the default upon installing Optuma these folder locations may vary.
Note: Some of the folders listed above can be hidden by Windows. For information on displaying these folders, please click here.
Once the file paths for exceptions have been specified, select Apply. You can then reopen Optuma and you will no longer receive any notifications from AVG.
