Who is eligible for Free access to Optuma?

Any CMT candidate who has paid for the next CMT exam and is not an existing Optuma client.

How long do I have access for?

Your access will continue until just after the next CMT exam. If you are taking another exam during the next administration, then your copy of Optuma will be reactivated as soon as you sign up to the next exam on the MTA website.

Where can I install the software?

You can install Optuma on your personal PC and/or a work PC. Please note that Optuma is used in many financial firms but may require configuration by your firm’s IT personnel. Please contact us for more instructions.

Why do I sometimes see “Market Analyst”?

From 1996 to 2016 our product and company name was “Market Analyst”. Throughout 2016 we are transitioning to “Optuma”, but there are still some systems that are called “Market Analyst”. It is the same team behind both names.

Where can I learn more about how to use Optuma?

The best place to start is with our videos section. In particular,  have a look at our getting started video at http://oab.io/akirc. While it’s based on an older version of the software, the information is still 100% valid.

I see Optuma has a couple of editions. Which edition do CMT candidates get?

Our Professional Services End-Of-Day edition is what is being offered to CMT candidates. This includes end-of-day data for up to 10 “Exchanges” from those that we have available.

How much does it cost if I want to continue using Optuma after I take the CMT exam?

You will need to sign up for a subscription to Optuma. See our home page for pricing options.

What if I want to use Optuma with Bloomberg data or use the publishing features?

You will need to upgrade to our Professional Services edition at $249 per month.
