Keyboard Shortcut Settings

Overview

Shortcuts allow you to assign keyboard combinations to a number of common functions/processes in Optuma, such as opening a candlestick chart, changing timeframe, closing a workbook, or taking a screenshot. Some shortcuts have been assigned by default (such as CTRL+S to save the workbook) but you can manage your own shortcuts via the Shortcut Settings window under the Settings menu.

If you you have added custom toolbar buttons for your favourite tools or actions then you can also assign keyboard shortcuts to those.

Assigning a Shortcut

In the Shortcuts window you can search for the function you want to apply a shortcut to and left-click on the Shortcut field.

Next, press the key or key combination you want to assign to the selected function. In the above example, the Alt+G combination can now be used to open a new Gann Swing Chart. Once you have entered the desired key combination, left-click on a blank area of the window. If the keyboard combination isn’t being used for another shortcut then it will be accepted by the system.

After you have completed adding the desired shortcuts left click the Apply button and then select Close. The shortcut is now ready for immediate use.

Assigning a Shortcut to a Custom Toolbar Button

If you have added a toolbar button for your favourite tools or actions then you can create a keyboard shortcut for it. Right-click on the button and click on the Shortcut option. In this example for the Fibs button for my custom Fibonacci Retracement levels, when Shift+F is used the cursor will change allowing you to apply the custom Fib tool:
