Running a Scan

The following article will outline how to run a scan in Optuma.

  1. Select a scan from the Saved Scans section.

Running a Scan 1

  1. Go to the Security Selection window and nominate the Scan Type, whether you are scanning single or multiple codes.

Running a Scan 2

If you are using a single code, you will need to nominate the Code to Scan by left-clicking on Click to choose. This will display the security selection where you can type the name of the code or manually locate it from the list displayed.

Running a Scan 3

If you have selected Multiple Codes, then left-click on Click to choose to access the Data Exchange Selector where you can select the exchange, workbook or favourite list to use for your scan.

  1. Go to the Date Range section and select the length of time the scan should cover.

Running a Scan 4

  1. Go to the Data Timeframe section and nominate the time frame or period for the data you are executing the scan on, e.g. 1-day bar.

Running a Scan 5

  1. Available from Optuma 2.0 and onward you can select which result to display in the scanning manager. There are 3 options (Latest Match Only, First Match and All Matches).

1. **Latest Match only** will show the most recent date to pass the criteria in the selected date range. 2. **First Match** will show the earliest date to pass the criteria in the selected date range. 3. **All Matches** will show an entry for each pass of the criteria in the selected date range. For example if a code passed 3 times in your selected scanning range, 3 results for that code would display in the Scanning Manager results window.

  1. You are now ready to run your scan. To commence scanning, left-click the Execute Scan button located beneath the scan criteria window.

  1. The scan will begin. Once it has completed the results will display along the bottom of the Scanning Manager.
